In this section we will examine the match between your goals and your resources. Often organizations capitalize on their readily available resources, and sometimes do not pursue resources needed to attain long-term goals. Readily available resources can begin to drive goals. Determining your priorities and examining your resources can help to illuminate those dark corners where you've tossed an important goal. Is it gathering dust? Do you need to give it a bit of nourishment and set it on its way?
Write each of your goals followed by the general and specific resources you have available to accomplish this goal.
For each goal, list the general, specific, and potential resources you have available to achieve that goal. What resources do you need to accomplish this goal?
Now that you have examined all of your goals and held them up to the light of your resources, what main actions does your organization need to take to find the resources it needs? What time frame can you put on this—immediately, in a few days, in a few weeks, in 6 months, in a year? What are your big dreams for two, five, and 10 years down the road, and how can you build an organization that will attain them? For each goal, evaluate what you need to accomplish and establish within a reasonable time frame.
